MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes men's basketball team placed five players on the Southern Athletic Association Men's Basketball All-Conference list for the 2014-2015 season.
Drew Miller was named a First Team All-Conference selection for his play this season. The senior led the team in scoring with 12.0 points per game average. On the season, Miller shot 46.8 percent from the floor and 36.9 from three-point range. The Fort Smith, Ark. native also snagged an average of 4.9 rebounds a game, and dished out 3.16 assists a contest. Miller led the league in steals, with 58 in 2014-2015.
Rhodes placed four Lynx on the Honorable Mention list, in
Luke Collins,
Geoff Livsey,
Ryan Van Hoeck and
Brennan Sullivan. Collins averaged 9.8 points this season, with a 42.6 three-point percentage. The senior led the conference in free throws, shooting 64-of-70 on the season, including a record setting streak of 38 straight made free throws for both Rhodes College and the confernce.
Livsey averaged 10.6 points on the year for third on the Rhodes squad, while averaging 5.1 rebounds per game. Van Hoeck also wreaked havoc on behalf of the Lynx, with his 10.0 points per game average to go with a 3.7 rebounding average. The Cordova, Tenn. native's field goal percentage of 56.3 was good enough for fourth in the league this season.
Sullivan, the only non-senior to make the list had a standout sophomore campaign. The Jacksonville, Fla. native was the team's second leading scorer with 10.9 points per game average. He shot a hot 46.4 percent from the field and scorched the nets with a 46.8 three-point field goal percentage. His league three-point percentage of 52.1 was the best mark in the conference.
The Lynx are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 28 when they host Birmingham Southern College in the semi-final round of the SAA Conference Tournament.
