JACKSON, Miss. – A balanced attack led the Rhodes men's basketball team past Millsaps College on Sunday in Southern Athletic Association play, 67-45.
The Lynx improve to 14-4 on the season and 7-1 in league play, while the Majors fall to 6-13 on the year and 2-6 in conference.

Mike DeGeorge's squad got off to a hot start, with a 9-0 run, featuring a
Luke Collins three, a pair of layups from
Ryan Van Hoeck and a
Geoff Livsey lay-in by the 17:51 mark.
After withstanding a Millsaps run,
Brennan Sullivan knocked down back-to-back trey's to give Rhodes a 17-9 lead with 9:44 to play. The Lynx lead hit the double-digit mark with 2:31 to play after a
Matt Wagner jumper, and a
Drew Miller bucket pushed Rhodes to a 25-17 lead.
The Majors cut the deficit heading down the stretch, but a Collins buzzer beater fell and gave Rhodes a 27-23 lead at the break.
At the midway point, the Lynx reported a balanced offensive effort with Sullivan, Miller and Van Hoeck all with six points. Myles Moore who tallied eight points, led the Majors. Rhodes shot 42.3 from the field in the opening half, with Millsaps notching 34.8 percent.
The Lynx took over in the second half and by the 13-minute mark, the lead swelled to 41-29 after a
JJ Weir bucket from deep. Just four minutes later the Rhodes lead surpassed the 20 mark, with a Sullivan three giving the Lynx a 52-31 edge.
Rhodes proved too much for their counterparts, as they sunk the Majors 67-45.
The Lynx had a balanced scoring attack, with Sullivan leading all scorers with 15 points, followed by Livsey who added 12. Livsey shot an impressive 5-5 from the field, and was a perfect 2-2 from the charity stripe. Collins and Weir each turned in nine points, with Miller and Van Hoeck finishing with eight apiece. Miller dished out seven assists and grabbed six rebounds.
Moore led the Majors with nine points, with Ryan Detillieu netting seven. Rhodes forced 13 Majors turnovers, but were narrowly out-rebounded 30-29.
Rhodes fired 48.9 percent from the field, and 34.6 from beyond the arc. The Lynx held their counterparts to just 30.4 percent shooting, and only gave up three, three-point buckets.
Rhodes will be back in action in Danville, Ky. on Feb.6 when the Lynx face off against Centre College at 8 p.m.
