SEWANEE, Tenn. - For the second straight game, senior
Mary Rose Hazel scored the game winning goal, scoring 10 minutes into the second half to pick up a 1-0 Southern Athletic Association win over the University of the South on Saturday morning.
Hazel scored the game-winner in overtime over 10th-ranked Lynchburg a day ago and this time came through with her sixth goal of the season to push the Lynx to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in SAA play.
The Lynx were absolutely dominant offensively, outshooting the Tigers, 26-1, and holding an 11-2 advantage in corners.
Hazel led the offensive attack with six shots while senior
Evy Royther and sophomore
Lauren Travis each added four shots. Junior
Erin Best also added three shots while junior
Christina DiFelice, sophomore
Maddie Smith, junior Mackenzie Busy, and sophomore
Georgie Wilkins all had two shots. Sophomore
Laura Eckelkamp started in goal and picked up a save in the matchup.
Rhodes will head to Louisville, Ky. as they will play at Sacred Heart Academy in a matchup with Ohio Wesleyan. The match is set to start at 10 a.m.
