Rhodes rolls to 3-0 victory over Centenary

Box Score MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes volleyball team swept the Centenary College Ladies in three straight sets on Saturday. 
 
The win put the Lynx at 2-0 on the day, and 4-2 on the season, while the Ladies fell to 2-3.
 
The Lynx controlled the entire match winning to the scores of 25-20 25-15 25-21.
 
In the second set the Lynx were firing on all cylinders and attacked at an impressive .464 clip.  Junior middle blocker Lauren Johnson led the way for the Lynx with nine kills on 17 swings for a .412 attacking percentage. 
 
Freshmen Elasha Williams and senior Mollie Newbern, both outside hitters, each chipped in six kills in the winning effort.  Williams also tallied 12 digs while junior libero Tasha Heller lead the way with 13.  Senior defensive specialist Maraia Tremarelli had five digs to go along with four service aces, leading the Lynx to a total of 12.
 
The Lynx will be back in action on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 12 pm against the Fontbonne University Griffins.
