Rhodes drops overtime heart breaker to No. 2 Wash U, 1-0

Box Score ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Rhodes women's soccer team fell in a nail biter to the No. 2 ranked Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday, 1-0.
 
The loss moves the Lynx to 2-1 on the season while the Bears keep an unblemished record at 4-0.
 
The contest proved to be a defensive stalemate as neither team gave up a goal in 90 minutes of play. At the halftime break, the Lynx had fired off eight shots to the Bears seven. Each keeper also grabbed two saves a piece at the midway point.
 
In a game that needed extra time to decide a winner, Olivia Lillegraven scored the lone goal when she headed in a cross off Lexie Sprague for the 1-0 victory.
 
The Lynx fought, with nine shots in the contest and three corner kick attempts. The Bears fired off 33 shots while picking up five corner kicks.
 
Goal keeper Chandler Kuhlman earned 95:42 as the Lynx keeper, where she snagged 10 saves.
 
The Lynx will look to bounce back on Sunday when they face off with Webster University in their second game of their St. Louis road trip, kicking off at 2 p.m. on Sept. 7.
