ABILENE, Texas – The Rhodes women soccer team was handed another tough loss on Sunday, as the Lynx fell to the No. 22 ranked Hardin Simmons University.
 
The Lynx loss is their third this season decided by merely a goal. It moves the Rhodes record to 4-3-1 on the season while the Cowgirls improve to 6-1 on the year.
 
Rhodes defense held strong for 74 minutes, but couldn't hold off a Hardin Simmons goal in the 74th minute that made the count 1-0. Despite their best efforts, the Lynx couldn't edge their way onto the board and that score would stand as final.
 
The Lynx were outshot by the Cowgirls, 10-5 and took less corners by a margin of 6-3.
 
Rhodes goal keeper Chandler Kuhlman earned all 90 minutes for the Lynx, where she pulled in five saves on the day.
 
The Lynx will be back in action after a bit of a break, a week from Sunday on Sept. 28 against Elmhurst College in Memphis at 12 p.m.
