Box Score SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Rhodes volleyball team dropped a tough conference battle to Sewanee on Saturday, 3-0.
The Lynx fall to 4-8 on the season and 0-2 in league play while the Tigers improve to 4-7, and 1-1 in Southern Athletic Association play.
Rhodes fell in straight sets by close scores of 25-21, 25-16 and narrowly missed in the third set by a tally of 25-19.
The Lynx offense was led by
Elasha Williams and
Mollie Newbern, who each swung for 10 kills apiece.
Catherine Grimes chipped in five kills, with Johnson adding four.
Caryn Hawkins dished out 26 assists in the contest. On the defensive front, senior
Maraia Tremarelli sprawled for 14 digs, with Williams adding 10.
Rhodes will continue their conference play as they travel to Danville, Ky. on Sunday, Sept 21 to face Centre College.
