MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes men's soccer team couldn't hold off Belhaven University on Saturday as they fell 3-1.
Rhodes falls to 2-4-1 on the year, while the Blazers improve to 6-1 on the season.
Rhodes drew the first score in the 38th minute when
Mark Robinson finished a
Alec Rhodes set up, beating two Blazers defenders to finish in the goal. The Lynx held on to their 1-0 lead through the half time break.
In the second half the Rhodes defense couldn't hold off the Blazers, as theur scored three unanswered goals. The First came in the 49th minute from a Joao Belmonte. The Second and third Belhaven goals were within minutes of one another, as Pedro DeSouza scored at the 81 minute mark and Sam Rosselli in the 84th minute. Rhodes fell, 3-1.
Riley Sheen was in goal for the Lynx for all 90 minutes, where he grabbed 7 saves in the net.
The Lynx were outmatched in the shots category, by a tally of 19-10 as well as the corner kick column, where they fell short, 7-5.
The Lynx will look to bounce back on Sunday, Sept. 21 against Oakwood University at 2 p.m.
