Rhodes Cruises Past Majors in Quarters; Face No. 1 Sewanee in Semis

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Rhodes College men faced Southern Athletic Association opponent Millsaps College in the quarterfinals of the Conference Tournament at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and compiled a decisive 8-1 victory.
 
The Lynx started out hot, getting up in all three doubles matches early and never looking back.  Eliot Blatt and Colin Perry as well as Graham Sowden and Greyson Brilliant won at first and second doubles respectively with 8-2 wins over the Majors.  Albert Vacheron and Daniel Olivier finished off Mills and Thomas at third doubles 8-3.
 
On what was a hot afternoon in middle Tennessee, singles play was much the same for the Lynx as their first meeting with Millsaps, winning line one and lines three through six.  Vacheron and Olivier won at third and sixth singles 6-0, 6-0 while Brilliant and Sowden won 6-1, 6-0 and 6-3, 6-2 at lines four and five.  Eliot Blatt was the last Lynx off of the courts with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Charles Rees of Millsaps.
 
The win sets up a rematch of the  April 6 match with University of the South (L 6-3) tomorrow, April 26 at Old Fort Park, 12 p.m.
