Rhodes falls to Centre, 2-1 and 3-0

DANVILLE, Ky. – The Rhodes softball team struggles against Centre, falling 2-1 and 3-0 on Sunday.
 
The Lynx are now 14-13 on the season and 3-10 in league play while the Colonels advance to 7-12 and 6-7 in the SAA.
 
In the first contest, The Lynx fell in a tight battle 2-1. Centre posted a run in both the second and third inning to pull ahead to a 2-0 lead. Rhodes rallied in the sixth when a Courtney Williams double sent Jessica Brown home, but the Lynx couldn't muster any more runs and the 2-1 score would stand.
 
Rhodes tallied up seven hits in the contest to match the host Colonels seven hits. Forrest Skelton pitched all six inning of the contest for the Lynx, throwing nine strikeouts and only five walks. The loss moves Skelton to 10-6 on the season.
 
In the second game, the Lynx fell 3-0 to the Colonels. Center notched their runs in the fourth inning after a double to right field scored two. Centre added its final run in the fifth to take a 3-0 win.
 
Rhodes notched three hits in the outing to Centre's five.
 
Chloe Hundman threw all six innings for the Lynx, only walking four.
 
Rhodes will look to bounce back when they return to the field on April 12 against Sewanee at home. The contest will be the Lynx final home series and they will honor their seniors in a ceremony prior to the first pitch on April 13.
