MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Rhodes softball split with Millsaps College again on Sunday, 8-6 and 1-2, closing the series 2-2.

The Lynx conclude the day with a 14-10 overall record, while the Majors move to 14-7.

In game one, the Lynx scored first after a series of key hits loaded the bases in the bottom of the first.
Rachel Pewitt got things started scoring the first run, comfortably bringing in
Jessica Brown. Mackenzie Martin, who was hit by a pitch, would score
Courtney Williams, to make the tally 2-0. The Lynx kept on rolling in the bottom of the second when a double to centerfield put
Erin Parker in scoring position and a single from Brown brought her home, pushing the Lynx ahead to a 3-0 lead.

The Lynx would hold the Majors scoreless until the top of the third, when with bases loaded, a double down the right field line scored three runs, tying the game 3-3. Another double down the first base line scored an additional run and a two-run homerun gave the Majors a comfortable 6-3 advantage.

The Lynx responded in the bottom of the fourth when Parker led off the inning with a triple to right center, followed by a Hume single which brought Parker home. Brown singled to left field moving Hume to second. A ground ball by Williams scored Hume and a single from Klein brought Brown home as Rhodes worked back to an even score with the Majors, 6-6.

The winning runs for the Lynx came in the sixth, when a single from Martin scored Brown and Klein, and gave the Lynx the 8-6 win.

Chloe Hundman pitched the first four innings before being relieved by
Forrest Skelton who would get credit for the win.

In the second game of the day, the Majors scored the first run off a double to left. The Lynx responded in the bottom of the second when Williams, who reached on an error, was advanced to second by Klein and brought home by a Pewitt double, knotting the contest at 1-1. The Majors regained the lead and scored the winning run in the top of the third and would hold on to the 2-1 lead for the win.

Skelton was credited with the loss for Rhodes, throwing for all seven innings while striking out six batters.

The Lynx will continue conference play March 29 in Danville, Ky. against the Colonels of Centre College at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
