MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Rhodes softball split with Millsaps College on Saturday, 5-0 and 0-3.

The Lynx conclude the day with a 13-9 overall record, while the Majors move to 13-6.

The Lynx went straight to work in the first game of the day. Jess Brown reached on a single to left field and scored on a double up the middle from
Courtney Williams in the bottom of the first, 1-0. Rhodes tallied three additional runs in the bottom of the second, two on a single from
Amber Hunt and a third when Dani Smith capitalized on a Major error bringing the score to 4-0.

The final score of the game came in the fourth when
Christine Hume reached on a hit up the middle, stole second and came home on a Brown single. The Lynx would hold the Majors scoreless for the entirety of the contest and close the game, 5-0.

Forrest Skelton was in the circle for the Lynx in the first contest, throwing for all seven innings while getting seven strike outs and only two walks.

In the second game of the day, the Lynx and Majors entered into a defensive battle which left both teams scoreless until the seventh inning. The Lynx threatened in the third quickly loading the bases but failed to connect allowing the Majors to close the inning unscathed. The Majors would score three unanswered runs in the seventh to win the game.

Chloe Hundman was credited with the loss for Rhodes, throwing for seven innings while striking out six batters. Hundman only walked four batters and threw six shutout innings.

They Lynx will be back in action against the Majors tomorrow, March 23 at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
