AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Rhodes split in Florida, defeating Thomas More 5-2 in its first game and falling in its first game of spring break to Franklin and Marshall 12-2.
The Lynx sit at 14-5 after Fridays games while Thomas More falls to 2-5 and the Diplomats move to 6-4 on the season.

Brendan DePoy and
Josh Keen paced the Lynx with two hits apiece in their first game. Rhodes answered a one-run first inning by the Saints with a run of their own in the first inning, when
Justin Genter scored on a wild pitch.
The Saints took a lead in the third inning, but the Lynx knotted things up at 2-2 after a Genter sacrifice fly scored
Josh Goodwin. The Lynx were propelled by a big seventh inning rally, sparked by the bat of
Patrick Kilkenny. Kilkenny's single to center field scored two, White and Olve, and gave Rhodes the 4-2 edge. A
Andrew Wallis sacrifice fly on the next at bat scored White, making the final count 5-2.
Rhodes finished the game with 11 hits. Thomas More only tallied six hits.
On the mound for the Lynx for the first contest was sophomore
Adam Putnam, who only gave up four walks and tallied up 12 strikeouts and got the win. Also seeing time on the hill for Rhodes was senior
Max Halasz, who had two strikeouts and earned his third save of the year in his two innings of work.
In the day's second contest, the Lynx fell to Franklin and Marshall College by a count of 12-2. In a contest that saw the Lynx struggle to get going offensively, the Lynx notched only three hits.
Daniel Morris started game two on the rubber, and in his five and one third innings, threw one strikeout.
Phil Sartain came in and pitched a full inning, throwing for two K's in his time on the hill.
James Quattrocchi and
Jonathan Coleman each threw two thirds of an inning, with Quattrocchi throwing two strikeouts and Coleman only allowing one hit.
Rhodes counterpart strung together 17 hits and 12 runs to take home the 12-2 victory.
Rhodes will wrap up its stretch of spring break games tomorrow against the University of Southern Maine in Winter Haven, Fla. March 15 at 1:30 p.m.
