MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Rhodes volleyball team picked up its second straight win on Sunday, downing Agnes Scott College, 3-0.
Rhodes honored its lone senior,
Mollie Newbern in a ceremony held prior to the match.
The Lynx finish the regular season with a record of 7-18, while the Scotties fall to 8-17 on the season.
Rhodes looked strong in the match prior to the conference tournament. The Lynx won the first set by a score of 25-15, took the second set 25-18 and finished Agnes Scott off in the third by a score of 25-9.
Elasha Williams continued her stellar first-year campaign leading the Lynx offensively with eight kills.
Alex Overstreet and Newbern each added seven kills to the Rhodes total.
Catherine Grimes directed the Lynx traffic, handing out 15 assists in the outing.
Caryn Hawkins added 10 assists on the day.
Maraia Tremarelli and Williams each sprawled for 11 digs in the contest, with
Dani Plata adding eight.
Rhodes will look forward to the Southern Athletic Association conference tournament, held at the No. 1 seeded Hendrix College. Rhodes will face off against the Warriors on Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.
