Rhodes field hockey was outmanned by Lynchburg, 3-0

FREDRICKSBURG, Va. – Rhodes field hockey fell to Lynchburg by a tally of 3-0 on Sunday in a neutral site contest.
 
The loss moves the Lynx back to 0-4 while the Hornets move to 2-2 for the 2013 season.
 
Rhodes fell behind in the first half 2-0 after a Katie Kline connection at the 23 minute mark from a Nicole Marburger assist. The Hornets second goal came in the 30th minute when Kelsey Link converted a Catherine Rogerson pass into a score.
 
Lynchburg would score their final goal in the 63rd minute from the stick of Link when she made an unassisted goal.
 
The Lynx were outshot by a count of 17-8 while each team took seven corners a piece.
 
Erin Bailey earned seven saves in her 70 minutes in the net for the Lynx.
 
Rhodes will be back in action on Sept. 14 when they open conference play at home against Transylvania University at noon. The Lynx will host Centre College the following day on Sept 15 at noon in SAA play.
