RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Hannah Selner grabbed an overtime goal to give Rhodes women's soccer its first road win Saturday as it defeated Dominican University 3-2.
The win puts the Lynx at 2-1 while the stars move back to 0-2 for the season.
Both teams struggled to find the back of the net in the first half, when Dominican drew first blood at the 53 minute mark off a Kelly Petty goal to go up 1-0.
Rhodes scored two unanswered goals following the Starts score, first from Selner off a Addie Fargason assist in the 55th minute and then again from Heidi Press just two minutes later, where Selner got tabbed for the assist.
Dominican tied the contest at 2-2 in the 80th minute when Sarah Snow found the back of the net sending the game into overtime.
The Selner, Press combo worked again when Selner scored off a Press assist in the 110th to give the Lynx the 3-2 victory.
Rhodes outshot the Stars by a wide margin of 36-10 and also took more corners by a tally of 11-3.
Allison Cowling played net minder for the Lynx, and grabbed three saves.
Rhodes will be back in action Sunday Sept. 8 at Elmhurst college at 1 p.m.
