Box Score

CONWAY, Ark. – Patrick Harris' hat-trick helps give Rhodes soccer a commanding 5-1 win over Centenary on Sunday in the Hendrix College Classic.

The win takes the Lynx to 2-4 on the young season, while Centenary falls to 0-5.

Rhodes scored five unanswered goals in the contest, the first coming from the foot of Harris after a Will Porter assist in the 14th minute. Harris again found the back of the net at the 18 minute mark to make the score 2-0. Harris scored his hat-trick goal in the 36th minute off a Evan Wladis set up to make the score 3-0.

Wladis would then get his own goal before the first half clock expired when he buried a Jonathan Fisher and Ben Gross pass with 15 seconds left to play in the half, taking a 4-0 Lynx lead into the break.

The second half saw one more Rhodes score when Ben Gross converted a Zach Karlan dish at the 57 minute mark.

Rhodes gave up Centenary's lone goal in the 79th minute when Chris Berrios snuck a shot past the Lynx keeper.

Riley Sheen kept track of the net for the Lynx for all 90 minutes of the contest, grabbing two saves during that time.

Rhodes took more shots than their opponent by a margin of 18-6 and took advantage of the 5-2 corner kick tally.

The Lynx will host soccer parents weekend the weekend of Sept. 21 and 22, where they will face Letourneau University and the University of the Ozarks respectively.
