The Rhodes College baseball team defeated visiting UW-Platteville 5-4 this afternoon at Stauffer Field. The Pioneers jumped out to an early 1-0 after the second inning, before each team put up two run apiece in the fourth. Platteville increased their lead to 4-2 in the top of the sixth, but the Lynx answer back with two of their own to tie the game at 4-4. Junior DH
Patrick Kilkenny gave the Lynx all the run support they would need with a solo homerun in the bottom of the seventh. Senior RHP
Matt Burnick picked up his second victory of the season for the Lynx and senior RHP
Stuart Voges earned his first save of the season as Rhodes improved to 15-11 on the season.

James Todd got the start on the mound for the Lynx, working four innings, scattering two hits, three walks, while striking out six. Todd allowed three unearned runs. Senior
Matt Burnick would work the next four innings on the mound for the Lynx. Burnick allowed five hits, one run, no walks, and struck out three as he earned his second victory of the season. Senior RHP
Stuart Voges finished off the game for the Lynx, getting two strikeouts and a ground ball enroute to his first save of the season.

Patrick Kilkenny was 2-5 with a homerun, run scored, and an RBI. Kilkenny's solo shot to right field in the bottom of the seventh was the eventual game winning run. Sophomore 3B
Josh Keen who was 1-2 with a run scored, RBI, and walked three times. Senior C
Matt Shaw was 1-2 with a double and freshman
Sam Reid was 1-1 with a run scored and got hit by a pitch.
Rhodes will return to conference play this Thursday against Berry. First pitch is set for 2:00 at Stauffer Field.
