University of Texas-Dallas - 40 

In the evenings first matchup, the Bears from Washington University defeated the Comets from the U. of Texas-Dallas by a score of 45-40.  The game was a very evenly matched, defensive battle with Washington University leading 26-23 at the half.  Kristen Anda led the Bears with 16 points and Jordan Rettig chipped in 8.  Morgan Kilgore was the leading scorer for the Comets with 12 points.

Rhodes - 59
Louisiana College - 58

The Lynx pulled out a thriller by erasing a 6 point Wildcat lead in the last two minutes to win 59-58.  Rhodes took a 34-22 lead into the dressing room at the half, only to see Louisiana College take a 58-52 lead with 2 minutes left in the game.  Lauren Avant led the Lynx with 17 points, Sarah Johnson had 13 and Catherine Eckert 12.  Natosha Gottlieb led the Wildcats with 22 points.

Tomorrow (Saturday) evening at 5:00 PM Washington University and Rhodes College will meet in the 2nd round of the NCAA Division III tournament in Mallory Gym.
