The Rhodes College Women's Soccer team started of the 2012 campaign with a strong performance against in-region rival Fontbonne University. Sophomore
Kelsey Keown completed the hat trick as the Lynx won 6-0.
Keown was on the board in the 7th minute as a deflection found her feet and she calmly found the back of the net. Fontbonne held the Lynx at bay until the 43rd minute when fellow sophomore
Taylor Weidow finished her chance.
The Lynx came roaring out after half time and extended their lead to 3 when Keown scored in the 50th minute off of an assist from senior
Mae Casey. Weidow also found her 2nd goal of the game in the 60th minute from junior
Heidi Press. Keown completed the hat trick in the 76th minute.
The Lynx put their final stamp on the game in the 80th minute. Freshman
Hannah Selner picked up the ball at midfield and ran at the Fontbonne defense. She slipped the ball out wide to senior
Paula Vasichko, who took a touch towards goal and played in inch perfect cross to fellow senior
Betsy Peterson. Peterson finished the goal with a first time strike to the back post.

Chandler Kuhlman completed the shutout. Kaniz Abbas made 9 saves for Fontbonne. The Lynx finished the match with 8 corners, and 33 shots.
The Lynx return to action tomorrow Sunday September 2nd at 10 am against Westminster College.
