Rhodes College Head Men's Basketball Coach, Mike DeGeorge, announced today that assistant coach Ron DuBois has been named the head coach at University of California at Santa Cruz.  Assistant Coach Kyle Bossier has accepted a position on the UC Santa Cruz staff.  Coach DeGeorge had this to say regarding the hiring, “Ron and Kyle have been tremendous colleagues and friends.  Their impact on Lynx Basketball will continue to be felt long after they depart for California.  We were very fortunate to have Ron on staff based on his extensive and successful coaching background.  He set his sights on being the next coach at Santa Cruz and felt Rhodes would provide him with Division III experience to prepare him for this opportunity.  I am thrilled for him this has worked out as planned.  Kyle is also a California native and this will be a great opportunity for him to continue his professional growth.”  For more information on Coach DuBois' hiring click on the UC Santa Cruz release: http://www.goslugs.com/teams/basketball/men/mbbcs.html

Coach DeGeorge also announced the hiring of Josh Dinkins.  Josh is coming to Rhodes after serving the past two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Hawaii Pacific.  Josh is a graduate of the University of Missouri, where he served as a team manager for four years.  Coach DeGeorge had this to say about the addition of Josh Dinkins to the Lynx staff. “Josh is bright, highly organized and committed to success.  Although he has not been at the NCAA Division III level his character and priorities make him an ideal fit for our vision and the DIII philosophy”.

Darren Vorderbruegge, Athletic Director and Men's Basketball Coach at Hawaii Pacific University had this to say about Coach Dinkins.   “Josh has spent the last two years as a graduate assistant in our program at HPU.  He has a tremendous work ethic, the highest integrity, and always displayed loyalty to our program.  His basketball knowledge was an asset to our team.  He was involved in every aspect of our program, including teaching on the floor, scouting, video breakdown, recruiting, travel, etc...  He has spent the last six years gaining valuable experience to prepare him to contribute to success at Rhodes.”
