The Rhodes Men's Lacrosse Team picked up their first ever program victory in Dallas, Texas this afternoon winning 13-5 against the host, University of Dallas. This win was also the Lynx first ever victory in SCAC Conference play.
The team was led by its seniors throughout the game, as the Lynx took a 3-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, and never looked back. Senior Captains Peter Hall (4 goals),
William Hornaday (3 goals, 1 assist), and
Van Roerty (3 goals) paced the Lynx offense the entire afternoon. Juniors
Hugh Madison (2 goals, 4 assists) and
John Sanford (1 goal, 1 assist) also helped keep the offense balanced. On defense, the Defensemen trio of
Jimmy Eye,
David Dorris, and
Alex Schumaker did a great job slowing down the Dallas attack, and goalie
Carson Lewis had another strong outing in the crease with 8 saves.
Head Coach
Dave Zazzaro had this to say about the game: "It was an exciting team victory. We had so many critical contributions from everyone and I'm particularly proud of our seniors effort."
The Lynx will hit the road again next week for two more SCAC Conference games against Centre College (April 6th) and Sewanee University (April 7th).
