Rhodes Women's soccer advances to the SAA final against #11 Centre College.

The Lynx got revenge today against Birmingham Southern with a 3-2 victory. BSC beat the Lynx 3-2 in the opening game of SAA play this season.

The Lynx were quickly behind in the game when BSC scored 27 seconds into the game. Rhodes responded by going on the attack. Junior Heidi Press equalized the game on a shot from on top of the box in the 18th minute. Both teams would battle through the rest of the half with no additional goals.

BSC started the 2nd half strong, but the Lynx were able to gain the momentum. In the 62nd minute freshman Elizabeth Wayda finished a loose ball in the Panther's goal box. 6 minutes later Wayda would become the provider when she found classmate Lauren Albright for a diving header.

BSC made the last 15 minutes interesting when they converted a penalty kick.

The Lynx defense would hold strong as they finished the game out. Leading the defense was senior Emily Shaw, fellow senior Shannon Blair, junior Sarah DiLella, and sophomore Breanna Durbin. Junior Allison Cowling made 5 saves in goal.

The Lynx outshot the Panthers 15 to 12 and had the advantage in corners 6 to 2.

The SAA final is set for 12 noon tomorrow.
