The men's soccer team dropped 2 hard fought games on their first SAA road trip of the year. On Friday, the Lynx made their first ever trip to Berry College and fought hard but came up short in a 2-0 loss. Berry scored early in the second half and clinched the game with a penalty kick in the 86th minute. The Lynx had several good chances including 2 shots off the crossbar by sophomores
Jason Crutcher and Andy Roskos-Ewoldsen. Freshman goalkeeper
Riley Sheen kept the game close with several key saves.
On Sunday the Lynx took to the field at Oglethorpe University ready to play and scored first when Sophomore
Eric Ly scored his 3rd goal of the year from a free kick at the 21 minute mark. 7 miniutes later sophomore
Jason Crutcher scored his 2nd goal of the year as he beat 2 Oglethorpe defenders to put the Lynx up 2 -0. It was enough to wake up the defending SCAC Champs who also advanced to the 2012 NCAA Tournament, and within 15 minutes the game was level at 2-2 when Oglethorpe was awarded a penalty kick that was converted to take a 3-2 lead into the half. The Lynx fought hard in the 2nd half but Oglethorpe proved to be too much to handle as they scored twice more to finish the game at 5-2. The Lynx travel next to Millsaps College friday night for a 7:00pm match.
