The Rhodes Women's Soccer team defeated new SAA member Berry College 2-0 in Rome, Ga.
Freshman tandem of
Elizabeth Wayda and
Hannah Selner combined to give the Lynx the lone goal of the match. Sophomore
Kelsey Keown's shot from distance struck the crossbar and fell to Selner. Selner's shot was blocked by a Berry defender and went directly to Wayda, who found the back of the empty net.
The Lynx were able to create several other chances, but could not score again.
Rhodes had the advantage in shots 19-3 and had the lone corner kick of the game.
Junior
Allison Cowling made 3 saves in her 6th shutout of the year.
Lynx return to action on Sunday when they play Oglethorpe at noon.
