Fredericksburg, VA- In the first of three east coast games over fall break the Lynx beat Randolph Macon College of Ashland, VA 2-1 in a closely contested match at Fredericksburg Academy. The Lynx started strong controlling play for the majority of the first half and scoring in the first three minutes of the game. The goal was scored by
Kat Simpson off of a rebound from RMC's goalkeeper's pads after an initial shot from
Katie Faucher. The Lynx limited RMC to no corners and one shot in the first half but were unable to score again. After the half Rhodes took a 2-0 lead on
Corrinne Palmer's first career goal just ten minutes into second half play. Randolph Macon came roaring back after the Lynx second goal and controlled much of play in the final 20 minutes, including earning 9 corners which Rhodes was able to successfully defend. The Yellow Jackets managed to find the back of the cage with 15 to play to close the gap to one goal but the Lynx hung on for the win. Rhodes (8-3, 6-0 SAA) will face #5 Franklin and Marshall Monday night at 5 pm.
