Rhodes women's soccer defeated Westminster College in the last non-conference weekend 3-0.  The Lynx defense completely shut down all of the Blue Jay offense, blanking them on the score sheet.  The Blue Jays were unable to create a shot on goal or a corner.  On the other hand, the Blue Jay defense was busy all game long.  The Lynx created 44 shots total, 25 shots on goal, and 13 corners.  With all of that action the Westminster defenders did well to hold the Lynx to only 3 goals.
The game was scoreless for most of the 1st half until senior Ashley Ladd finished a rebound off of fellow senior Laura Flink's shot.  Ladd scored again 4 minutes later off of an assist from senior Cat Rickenbacker.  Sophomore Heidi Press scored the final goal for the Lynx 13 minutes into the 2nd half.
Goalkeepers Stephanie Sermonet and Alison Cowling combined for the shutout.  Cassie Rossman made 22 saves for Westminster.
The Lynx open up the 2011 SCAC campaign when they play host to Hendrix College this Sunday at noon.
