The Rhodes College Lynx defeated Fontbonne 6-0 in the 1st game of the Washington University in St. Louis classic. The Lynx would score early and often in the first half. Senior
Laura Flink opened the scoring in the 8th minute off of a pass from Sophomore
Jenna Sarett. Flink would have her 2nd of the game 12 minutes later, when she finished a rebound off of a shot from junior
Betsy Peterson.
Senior
Ashley Ladd would score the next two goals for the Lynx. Ladd camly finished a great through ball from classmate
Cat Rickenbacker. Ladd's 2nd goal came in the 42nd minute when she finished a pass from freshmen
Kelsey Keown. Keown would then find the back of the net herself 3 minutes later off of a pass from sophomore
Maddy Esther.
The Lynx would be held off the score board till the 87th minute when freshman
Delaney Bracken scored her 2nd goal in as many games.
Senior
Stephanie Sermonet and sophomore
Allison Cowling would combine for 3 saves and also the Lynx's 2nd shutout of the year. Kaniz Abbas made 13 saves for Fontbonne.
The Lynx finished the game with 29 shots, 20 of them on goal. They also held the advantage in corner kicks 8 to 2.
The Lynx are back into action tomorrow when they face host #16 Washington University in St. Louis; who came from behind to defeat DePauw 3-2 in the 2nd game of the evening.
