DePauw's depth in the post and dominance in rebounding was too much for Rhodes today, as the Lynx fell 75-46 in Mallory Gymnasium. Junior
Sharwil Bell once again led the Lynx in scoring and rebounding with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Also scoring in double figures for Rhodes, sophomores
Jaime Maxey with 11 and
Sarah Womack with 12. DePauw's multiple post players were able to limit freshman
Amy Handelman to only 2 points and 5 rebounds.
DePauw also had 3 players score in double figures and were paced by a double-double from sophomore Ellie Pearson who chipped in 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Tigers. DePauw outrebounded Rhodes by 16 and also had 7 fewer turnovers than the Lynx.
Rhodes (9-15, 6-10) and DePauw (22-3, 15-1) will both head to Jackson, Mississippi next weekend for the SCAC tournament, hosted by Millsaps College. Rhodes will face off with Trinity University on Friday, February 24, at 8PM at Millsaps.
