Despite a push late in the game, the field hockey team suffered another tough loss against DePauw University (10-1) on Saturday afternoon at a neutral site game Louisville. Held scoreless for the first time this season, the Lynx struggled to generate the offensive momentum needed to put the ball in the back of the cage. The bright spot in the match-up was an outstanding performance in goal by junior keeper
Jordan Robinson who notched 13 saves on the day. The game's lone goal came midway through the first half on a DePauw penalty corner. Several Lynx defenders posted great efforts in the backfield including senior
Sara Sanders, along with teammates Sam Anscher,
Corrinne Palmer, and
Regan McLaughlin. Much of the game was played within the midfield, with senior
Sarah Kennedy controlling play for the Lynx. Offensively, Rhodes was only able to produce two shots on cage both coming from junior forward
Katie Faucher.
With the loss, Rhodes falls 5-4 on the season and remains 2-1 in conference play. The Lynx will return to action tomorrow morning in Lexington, KY for an 11:00 am match-up against Transylvania University.
