The Rhodes Volleyball team dropped two five set heart breakers on day 2 of the SCAC Central-West Divisional held at Rhodes College. The team was within two points of defeating Southwestern, the 9th ranked team in the nation before losing the final set 15-13. The Lynx found themselves down two set to none against the University of Dallas before winning the next two sets. Unfortunately the Lynx were unable to win the fifth set again losing by the score of 15-13.
Against Southwestern, Outside Hitter
Claire Warren led the team with 20 kills, 25 digs and 3 service aces. Libero
Maraia Tremarelli anchored the team's back row with 46 digs while
Meagan Mansfield amassed 34 digs. Setters
Michelle Quina and
Nicole McAlvany combined for 50 assists.
In the team's match against Dallas,
Claire Warren again led the Lynx with 19 kills and 17 digs.
Meagan Mansfield led the team with 5 service aces and chipped in 13 kills.
The team returns to action next Wednesday when they travel in town to face off against Lemoyne Owen. Game time is set for 6pm.
