Sunday afternoon ended poorly for the Rhodes Lynx as they fall to Sewanee 65 - 63. The Lynx fought through a dificult night on both ends of the floor, but were able to take a lead with 0.04 seconds remaining in the game. University of the South (Sewanee) guard Bryant caught a lob pass, turned, and heaved up a half court shot that went in.
For the second night this weekend, the Lynx started slow resulting in a halftime deficit, 40 to 29. Rhodes was unable to defend the Sewanee Tigers beyond the arc as they were able to shoot 66.6% on 8 for 12 shooting. The Lynx were to hang around with hot shooting from Freshman Patrick McGrail, going 3 for 3 from distance, scoring 9 points.
A spirited second half surge started with nearly 16:00 minutes remaining in the game as the Lynx were able to hold the Tigers scoreless for over 8 minutes. Rhodes took their first lead of the game on Sophomore Andrew Galow's three-point field goal, 51 - 50. The game went back and forth from that point forward.
With 3.0 seconds left the Lynx had the ball side out. Rhodes drew up a special during a timeout and got a wide open layup for Galow with 0.04 second remaining. With no timeouts remaining, the Tigers found an open man and hit a half court shot to defeat the Lynx 65 - 63.
