2nd Half Comeback Stalls For Lynx

Ice Cold Shooting Put Lynx Behind Early

1/14/2011 10:50:00 PM

It was a poor shooting night Friday, January 14th for the Lynx against the visiting Colorado College Tigers.  In the first half, the lid was shut on the Lynx as they shot 25%, going 7 for 28 from the field.  Getting behind early proved too much for Rhodes to overcome, as they dropped another SCAC game to the Tigers, 68 - 51.

Another slow start for the Rhodes College Lynx reared it ugly head, as they fell behind early to Colorado College.  The Lynx fought hard in the first half, but could not get a shot to go in.  Rhodes statistically went 2 for 17 on two point field goals, a staggering 11.7%.

However, the Lynx were not going to go gently into the night.  A passionate group came out of the locker room and started to chip away at the Tigers lead.  Rhodes became more engaged defensively and shots were beginning to fall at a better clip.  Back to back three point baskets by Sophomore Andrew Galow and Junior Kory Kilpatrick trimmed the lead to nine with 6:45 to play.  Colorado College was on their heels and the Lynx faithful were pushing for a huge comeback victory.

A big defensive stop followed, but the Lynx shooting woes reared their head in the final five minutes.  The Tigers got a big three point field goal by Jeremiah Waters to push the lead back to double digits and Rhodes would get no closer.

Rhodes goes at it again on Sunday at 1pm against Austin College
