13 Three's Enough In Lynx Victory

1/11/2011 10:11:25 PM

Rhodes squared up their non-conference schedule with a win tonight, Tuesday January 11th, against the University of Dallas.  A true team effort and 13 three-point field goals resulted in the 76 - 64 defeat of the visiting Crusaders.  With the victory, the Lynx finish their non-conference schedule with four wins and four losses.

It was a rough start for the Lynx as they fell behind early and were not ready to defend.  In the first seven minutes of the game, the Lynx gave up 14 points.  The Lynx roared back taking the lead and holding the Crusaders to only 5 points over the next eight minutes of the game.  Heading into the break, Rhodes took a 34 - 27 lead.

Eight three-point field goals and 72% shooting in the second half were too much to handle for the visitors Tuesday.  The Lynx were able to execute in the half court and extend their lead to 20 points late in the game.  In the end Dallas' pressure resulted in a few turnovers, but Rhodes was able to stay strong and finish with a victory.

"With our point guard and team leader out with an injury, it was a true team effort today." said Head Coach Mike DeGeorge.  "I told the guys this morning that everyone was going to get an opportunity today and I truly believe that all ten players had a major impact in the outcome of this game."  Statistical, all ten Lynx players scored, including six with eight or more points.

It is a quick turnaround for the Lynx as they host a doubleheader weekend with Colorado College and Austin College on Friday and Sunday.  Come out and support your Lynx on Friday night at 7pm.
