The Lynx field hockey team came out on top today with a 2-1 win over conference rival Centre in Danville, KY. Rhodes got on the board fairly early in the first half with a goal by Lindsey Gurkovich, which turned out to be the game winner. Taylor Mills scored on an assist from Charlie Wagner mid way through the second half to put Rhodes up 2-0, but the 2 goal lead would not last long. Centre made a strong final push, bringing the game 2-1 with 7 minutes to play on a goal by Centre freshman Courney Kuiper. Defender Sara Sanders and goalkeeper Sarah Dockery played well for the Lynx with Dockery tallying 12 saves in goal. Charlie Wagner had an outstanding game for Rhodes as well, controlling much of the play between the 25s. The Lynx (5-1, 1-0 SCAC) face Hendrix in Conway, AR Saturday at 1 pm followed by a home game on Sunday at 2:30 pm versus LIndenwood.
