The Lynx Volleyball team opened up the Rhodes Invitational in convincing style winning both matches on Friday. The Lynx defeated the Gorlocks of Webster University in three straight sets by the scores of 25-23, 25-19. In the team's nightcap, the Lynx defeated the Millsaps Majors in a non-conference match up by the scores of 25-17, 20-25, 25-22, 23-25.
Against Webster, Outside Hitter
Meagan Mansfield led the Lynx with 15 kills and 2 blocks, while Freshmen Right Side
Lexie Krall added 10 kills, hitting .500 for the match. Setter
Nicole McAlvany led the team with 3 service aces.
In the nightcap against Millsaps, the Lynx were again led by Outside Hitters
Claire Warren and
Meagan Mansfield who combined for 35 kills on the night. Freshmen Middle Blocker
Bethany Gunn added 12 kills and 2 blocks while Libero
Kayla McCrury anchored the team's defense with 32 digs in the match.
The Lynx return to action Saturday afternoon when they face off against Franklin and Marshall at 2pm and Central Baptist at 4pm.
