The Rhodes Volleyball team finished with a 3-1 overall record at this weekend's SCAC East-Central Divisional hosted by Birmingham Southern College.  

The Lynx defeated Oglethorpe University in three straight sets to begin the day.  The scores were 25-15, 25-18 and 26-24.  Freshman Middle Hitter Bethany Gunn led the team with 9 kills and 3 blocks.  Setter Michelle Quina added 16 assists and 3 service aces while Setter Nicole McAlvany added 18 assists.

The team was unable to finish the weekend with a perfect record when they faced off against DePauw University in the team's finale.  The Lynx lost in three straight sets by the scores of 16-25, 19-25 and 18-25.  DePauw overpowered the Lynx hitting .333 on the match while the Lynx only hit .115.  Right Side attackers Phylicia Douglas and Lexie Krall combined for 15 kills while Libero Kayla McCrury led the Lynx with 26 digs.  

The team returns to action next week when they travel to Millsaps College to begin round two of SCAC play.  The team faces off against Trinity University at 12pm on Saturday.
