Rhodes Men's Soccer defeated visiting Millsaps College 2-1 Friday night at Mike Rose Stadium. The Lynx were all over the Majors from the whistle, creating several opportunities. The Lynx would finally capitalize on a corner kick in the 25th minute, as senior midfielder, Eric Stradley, slid to save the ball from crossing the endline and found sophomore defender, Will Cooner, who tucked the ball away from 6 yards out. The Majors would almost capitalize on a chance of their own with 5 minutes remaining in the half, as a counter attack ball slipped in Major forward, Brian Meyers, on a breakaway; however senior goalkeeper, Justin Stradley, came up big with the breakaway save.

Rhodes started out on the offensive in the 2nd half, as well, gaining several corner kick opportunities. However, it would be a cleared corner kick which led to another Millsaps counter attack. This time,  Millsaps forward, Andrew Moise, was taken down in the box and were awarded a penalty kick. Millsaps knotted the game up at 1-1 off the penalty kick conversion by Trey Fontaine. The Lynx were not deterred, and continued to generate dangerous opportunities on goal. With 15 minutes remaining in the game, senior forward, Nick Bailey, got around his defender and slipped a ball across the 6 yard box where junior midfielder, Christian Kurth, buried home the game winner. The Lynx held on for the 2-1 victory. Rhodes outshot Millsaps 19-6, and held the edge in corners 12-1.

The Lynx improve to 6-7-3 on the season and 3-5 in the SCAC. Rhodes will host Birmingham Southern on Sunday at 2 pm.
