Rhodes Women's Soccer battled SCAC foe, Hendrix College, at home Saturday afternoon. The Lynx played a very good game, creating several opportunities on goal, but simply could not find the back of the net. Both teams would enter the half tied at 0-0.
The second half was much like the first, with the Lynx controlling much of the play. The best opportunity of the half came when freshman
Heidi Press hit the crossbar. After a scoreless regulation, the game would need extra time to determine a winner. In the 2nd overtime period, freshman
Heidi Press found junior
Zoe Clark on a perfectly placed diagonal ball. Clark drove to the near post and slipped the ball through Hendrix keeper, Allison Mosley's, legs, giving Rhodes the 1-0 win. Lynx goalkeeper,
Stephanie Sermonet, made 4 saves on the game.
Rhodes improves to 4-5 on the season and 2-1 in the SCAC. The women travel to SCAC opponent, DePauw University, next Friday at 5:00 pm.
