Centre Outlasts Lynx

#23 Centre College held on to defeat Rhodes 2-1 on Sunday. The Lynx would open up with a strong first half having most of the possession. The Lynx would go into halftime leading Centre in shots 7-3. Centre would rebound with a strong 2nd half. The 0-0 tie was broken when Brittany Garr scored in the 61st minute.   The Lynx would respond with a goal of their own 13 minutes later. Sophomore Mae Casey would throw the ball into freshman Heidi Press who found herself in a 1-on-1 with Centre goalie Kelli Lenz. Press slid the ball underneath Lenz to tie the game. Garr would strike again with 10 minutes to remain in the game.
             Junior goalie Stephanie Sermonet made 4 saves for the Lynx. Centre would finish the game leading in shots and corners, 12-8 and 4-2 respectively.

The Lynx return to action on Saturday October 16th when they host Berry College at 11am.
