The women's team faced a couple of obstacles to finish in 7th place out of 18 teams at the Commodore Classic.  The first obstacle were the conditions of the course at Percy Warner Park in Nashville, TN after a week of rain.  The second obstacle was running without their top two runners.  Taylor Stephens and Anna Johnson were given the weekend off leaving the Lady Lynx a tough task in a deep field of Division I, II, and III runners.
     Leading the way were seniors Melissa DeFabrizio in 25th place and Cybil Covic in 27th place.  Both runners broke the 20:00 barrier with times of 19:51 and 19:56 respectively.  Following the top two was junior Kelsey Dudziak in 39th, freshman Maddie Harrigan in 73rd, junior Sandy Henin in 74th, sophomore Caroline Webster in 75th and junior Marianne Kirk in 77th.  The women's pack looked strong and will need to continue to improve over the coming weeks leading up to the conference meet.
     Next week the Lynx harriers will host their only home meet of the year at Shelby Farms.  Please join us out at Shelby Farms at 9:30 AM for the women's race and 10:10 AM for the men's race.
