Rhodes opens up SCAC play tonight.

Memphis, Tennessee ~ Rhodes College will begin its SCAC season tonight as DePauw University comes to Mallory Gymnasium with an 8pm scheduled tipoff.

 

DePauw University of Greencastle, Indiana is coached by Bill Fenlon.  Starting his 17th season at DePauw, Fenlon's Tigers are off to a 4-0 start.  The Tigers are led in scoring by Junior Steve LeMasters and his 15.3 points per game.  LeMasters is shooting 44% from three point on the year.  Sophomore Sean Haseley gives DePauw a second outside threat with his 53% from three point as well.  Haseley is second in scoring for the Tigers with 14.0 points per game.   The Tigers are coming off a 2008-2009 season where they finished 19-7 overall and 11-3 in SCAC play.

 

Rhodes College is trying to rebound from a short two game slide and is looking forward to senior Andyshea Saberioon's (Houston, TX) return to the lineup.  Saberioon is third on the Lynx in points per game with 12.2, third in rebounding with 4.4 and second in assists with 23 on the year.  His leadership and poise were missing in the Lynx defeat on Monday night.  Rhodes is lead in scoring by senior Reid Hamilton (Birmingham, AL) with 17.2 per game.  Hamilton has scored inside and out for the Lynx so far this season and shooting 46.2% from beyond the arc thus far.  Freshman Andrew Galow (Oswego, IL) has made his presence felt on the court for the Lynx through the first six games as he has averaged 13 points per game and leads the Lynx with 5 assists per game.  Sophomore Kory Kilpatrick (Athens, GA) is picking up where he left off last season as he averages 9.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game.  The other senior starter for the Lynx is Larry Cunningham, JR.(St. Charles, MO) and he is averaging 8 points per game for the Lynx.  Off the bench, Rhodes has two seniors who are making the most of their opportunities. Chris Eberle (Cincinnati, OH) is shooting 50% from three and Andrew Sillyman (Cordova, TN) leads the Lynx with 8 blocks and provides a defensive presence.  Brad Luckett (Cordova, TN) is also in the rotation for Coach Hilgeman and is providing some scoring off the bench.  Luckett averages 7.3 points and 4.0 rebounds in his role.
