The Rhodes Volleyball team opened the 2009 SCAC Volleyball Championships with a convincing win over Hendrix College in three staight sets by the scores of 25-11, 25-22, 25-16.

Sophomore Outside Hitter Claire Warren led the Lynx with 12 kills, while Libero Kayla McCrury added 19 digs and 6 service aces for the Lynx.  Middle Blockers Phylicia Douglas and Maura Mohler combined for 6 blocks.

In the team's second match, the Lynx faced off against the 12th ranked Pirates of Southwestern University.  The team dropped a hard fought match in four sets by the scores of 17-25,16-25,25-23,15-25.  

Senior Outside Hitter Kelsea Everett led the Lynx with 11 kills while Middle Blocker Phylicia Douglas added 3 blocks.  Setter Laura Jensen had 36 assists for the Lynx.

The Lynx return to action tomorrow morning when they face off against Austin College at 9am.
