Lynchburg scored 3 times in the first 28 minutes on Monday, digging a hole for the Rhodes Field Hockey team that was too deep to overcome.
Libby Feaster scored the Lynx lone goal on as assist by
Charlie Wagner early in the second half to get the Lynx within 2, but that is as close as they would get, falling by a final of 3-1. The goal was Feaster's second of the season and the assist Charlie's fourth. The Lynx, playing their third game in as many days on an East Coast road trip, fought hard and kept the pressure on the Hornets, but could not manage to put the ball in the net. The Lynx played the most competitive game any team has played against Lynchburg in their last 8 outings. Although Lynchburg out shot Rhodes 31-3, only 16 of those shots were on frame. Goalkeeper
Meghan Cullen played strong, earning the second half shutout and 13 saves on the day. Rhodes returns home on Friday in a 6:30pm game against SCAC rival Depauw.
