Women's Soccer Lose to Trinity in Double OT

Despite battling back from a two goal deficit to tie the game and force overtime, the Lynx were defeated by Trinity by a score of 3-2 when the Tigers scored a goal with just 23 seconds left in the second sudden death overtime period. 

Rhodes fell behind in the 13th minute of the first half when Michelle Grambeau scored her first of two goals to give the Tigers a 1 goal lead the would last until halftime.

Trinity widened their lead to 2 goals in the second half when Jennifer Wray scored in the 67th minute. 

The Lynx fought back and scored two goals just 37 seconds apart in the 82nd minute.  The first came when sophomore transfer Allison Graham broke free and crossed the ball to sophomore forward Karli Alvino who knocked the ball off the post and finished her own rebound to pull the Lynx within a goal of Trinity. 

Rhodes second goal came when senior midfielder Caroline Voelkel played the ball to freshman forward Bailey Morgan who sent the ball over the Trinity goalkeeper to knot the score at two.

For the remainder of regulation and the entire first sudden death overtime would stay locked at 2 goals apiece.

Michelle Grambeau would score the Trinity game winner with just 23 seconds left in the 2nd sudden death overtime to end the game and stop the Lynx comeback.

Rhodes falls to 7-5 (4-2 SCAC) and will travel to Fayetteville, NC to take on Washington and Lee University on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 2:00pm and will then take on Methodist University on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 2:00pm.
