The Southwestern Pirates came from behind to defeat the women's soccer team by a score of 2-1 In Georgetown, TX. Despite scoring in the first two minutes of the game, Rhodes was unable to finish off Southwestern and fall to 7-4 (4-1 SCAC).
Freshman forward Bailey Morgan put Rhodes on the board at the 1:03 mark of the first half when she knocked in a ball that bounced around the Southwestern penalty area after a Lynx corner kick.
Southwestern evened the score just 12 minutes later when Danielle Madison finished a rebound from a Becca Clarin save.
The score would remain ties a 1-1 going into the half.
The Pirates got the goal they would need to hand the Lynx their first loss in conference play when a free kick from 25 yards out squeaked through the penalty area and after a defensive miscommunication ended up in the Lynx net untouched.
The Lynx will travel to San Antonio, TX to take on the Trinity University Tigers on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 10:00am.
