Field Hockey to Play St. John Fisher in First Round of NCAA Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - For the second consecutive season and the fourth time in school history, the Rhodes College field hockey team has been selected to participate in the NCAA Championship as they will travel to Rochester, N.Y. to battle St. John Fisher in the first round on Wednesday.

The Lynx will battle the Cardinals 12:30 PM ET from Growney Stadium. The winner of that contest will move on to face Babson in the second round on Saturday.

Rhodes earned a NCAA Pool B bid after winning the Southern Athletic Association Championship on Sunday over Centre, 3-0. They currently have a 15-2 record overall and finished 5-0 in the SAA this season.

Fisher, winners of 17 straight games, won the Empire 8 Conference Championship on Saturday to earn the program's first appearance in NCAAs. The top-seeded Cardinals defeated No. 2 Washington & Jefferson College 2-1 in the title game.
