Rhodes Tennis Welcomes New Players

5/24/2012 3:59:00 PM

Rhodes is excited to announce the incoming freshman class of 2013!

With the men losing 8 players and the women graduating 2, this incoming freshman class can expect to make an impact right away.

We would like to welcome the 5 new Lady Lynx that will all be pushing for a top 8 spot.

Emily Rizer
Amelia McIsaac
Elle Prewitt
Francis Chandler
Kendall Caledonia

The addition of freshman Emily Rizer and sophomore transfer Amelia McIsaac will help to strengthen the top of the line-up. Emily is coming to Rhodes as the #1 ranked player in Kentucky and Amelia is transferring from D-II tennis powerhouse, Rollins, where she saw limited play time. Elle Prewitt from Springfield, Missouri will provide the Lynx with a baseline player who battles for each point. Francis Chandler and Kendall Caledonia will be strong additions and will add depth to the team.

The 8 graduating seniors on the men's team will be replaced by 11 freshmen. This is not a rebuilding year for the program but merely a reloading year. And with your 2013 men's freshman class we have:

Alex Frye
Rob Steinwedell
Nate McCain
Matt Plumley
Graham Sowden
Wells Scott
Eliot Blatt
Luis Ardila
James Walker
Greyson Brilliant
Preston Tunnell Wilson

All 11 of the guys will be competing and battling for a starting position. There is one returning starter, Sanders Phelps, who will provide the leadership and experience needed to show the new guys how things are done.

With a new year to come and so many new faces, Rhodes is excited for the new season to get going. With the new conference beginning next season, these new players will be the face of the program for the next 4 years!
