The Rhodes College Women's Volleyball Team was honored this year with its fifth straight AVCA Team Academic Award.  The award is given to those college and high school teams who achieve a cumulative team gpa of 3.3 and higher out of a 4.0 scale during the 2009-2010 academic year.  The team's cumulative gpa for the year was 3.35.

Besides the Lynx, three other SCAC schools receivevd the award (Birmingham Southern, DePauw University and Southwestern University).  A total of seventy five Division III schools were bestowed with this year's honor.  This marks the seventh time during Sam Lambert's coaching tenure that the team has been honored by the AVCA.  Coach Lambert says "Every year one of our team goals is to win the AVCA Team Academic Award.  Receiving such an honor is a true testament to our players' dedication to their work in the classroom as well as our success out on the volleyball court."
