Sarah Posey

Rhodes College Director of Athletics, Jim Duncan, announces Sarah Posey as Rhodes College’s next Head Women’s Golf Coach. Sarah assumes the position after serving as the Lynx part-time assistant coach for two and a half years. While an assistant at Rhodes, Sarah has worked full-time as the second assistant professional at Ridgeway Country Club in Memphis, serving as a golf instructor and swing coach.

Sarah is a 2020 graduate of Birmingham-Southern College (BSC), where she was a standout golfer for the Panthers. In Sarah’s junior year, she finished sixth in the Lee and Joe Duncan Rhodes Invitational, posting a one-under 71 in the final round. She followed that strong performance with a seventh-place finish in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championship.

In Sarah’s senior year, she made the SAA All-Sportsmanship Team and the SAA Academic Honor Roll and earned BSC Student-Athlete of the Week honors. A highlight of Sarah’s senior year was placing third in the prestigious DIII National Championship Preview Tournament at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Sarah has played in numerous professional events over the past two years; in August 2022, she competed in the LPGA and Epson Tour Qualifying Tournament, Stage 1.

Duncan commented, “We are excited to name Sarah as our new Head Women’s Golf Coach. Her knowledge of the game, our team, and the Division III landscape make her the ideal person to lead Lynx Women’s Golf back to the national stage. Sarah understands our expectations of establishing a championship culture that emphasizes winning in the classroom, on the course, and in the Rhodes and Memphis communities.”
